  1. Kia Ora Fletcher, well done on using personal pronouns (I/ she/ they) to correctly identify points of view. On slide 7, you mentioned that the story is from the writer/ narrator's point of view. Can you give me an example from the story that tells the reader what they should feel or imagine? What do you think of the words "mystical", "alone" and "storm clouds"? Same with slide 8, what emotion do you feel when you hear the words "broken", "wasteland", "shattered"?

    Great work on slide 15.

    For slide 16, good strategy in using repeated addition to do 18+18+18. Another strategy you could use is to break 18 into the tens and ones. So

    18= 10 + 8
    so 3 x 18 is the same as 3x10 + 3x8 =30 + 24 = 54

    Can you show me how you worked out 87-22?
